Located just five minutes from downtown Denver, the Berkeley neighborhood is known for its park-like setting, with varied styles of homes and businesses to highlight its diversity.

The Berkeley neighborhood boundaries are Federal Boulevard on the east, Sheridan Boulevard on the west, I-70 on the north, and 38th Avenue on the south.

This urban community is known for its diversity, and this is seen in the varied styles of homes, as well. There are medium-sized homes, with three-to-four bedrooms, as well as small studios and single-bedroom homes. Most are single-family homes and townhomes. The old styles of architecture are interspersed among modern townhomes and row houses, old school bungalows, tudors and craftsman-style homes.

Berkeley Lake and Rocky Mountain Lake are a couple of the scenic highlights of the Berkeley neighborhood.

Berkeley Lake

Berkeley Lake is the center of the North Denver Park, which provides large areas of grassy fields and shady areas, perfect for picnics. The trail around Berkeley Lake is beloved by walkers and joggers, in this quiet outdoor setting.

Additional amenities of this park include the William Schleitler Recreation Center, a dog park, playground, basketball and tennis courts, soccer and baseball/softball fields, and a public library. The lake is used for fishing and swimming, as well.

Rocky Mountain Lake

Rocky Mountain Lake has a serene, paved one-mile trail for walkers and joggers to enjoy while taking in breath-taking mountain views. The lake is great for kayaking and fishing, and the park has tennis courts, a playground and restrooms.

Family Attractions

The Lakeside Amusement Park is a family friendly amusement park, in Lakeside just minutes from Berkeley. It is one of the oldest amusement parks in America and features rollercoasters, drop towers, kid's rides and a scenic train ride around the lake with beautiful mountain views. There are rides, games, food booths to enjoy, as well as the opportunity to bring in outside food and beverages for picnics (if you leave the glass and alcohol behind).

The Denver Cat Company is a cat cafe, a small business with the focus of adopting cats, while allowing people to come in and interact with the cats and kittens in their rescue.

Public Schools

Students in the Berkeley neighborhood attend the following schools:

• DSST: Byers Middle School, which received an A score for its teachers, academics and diversity,
• Polaris at Ebert Elementary School, which received an A- score for its teachers, academics and diversity,
• Denver Language School, which received an A- score for its teachers, academics and diversity, and
• Highline Academy - Southeast, which received an A- score for its teachers, academics and diversity.
